Launching my independent practice — the part of this year I've been building toward since leaving my last full-time role. Most of my days right now are split between onboarding early clients, building this site as the front door, and developing the assessment frameworks I use to diagnose workplace culture before I recommend changes to it. The tools have to be sharp before the work can be fair.

The Culture Code by Daniel Coyle — re-reading, actually. I picked it up again because a client asked me to explain what "psychological safety" means in plain language, and Coyle's field stories are the clearest articulation I've found. Alongside it, I'm finally working through Dying for a Paycheck by Jeffrey Pfeffer. Every chapter is a reminder of why I do this work at all.

How much of what we call "workplace culture" is actually a pricing problem. When a team is understaffed, under-resourced, and over-promised to, no amount of belonging workshops will hold. I'm trying to write something honest about this — the part of wellbeing that lives upstream of HR.

Gardening, mostly. I started a small herb bed this spring and it turns out nothing teaches patience and systems thinking quite like waiting on basil. I'm also slowly learning to make sourdough again — the kind of hobby where the only acceptable pace is the pace the thing wants.
